AMC Networks has reached an agreement with TNA Wrestling to feature weekly wrestling events on the network. Established in 2002, TNA is part of Anthem Sports & Entertainment, which also owns AXS TV, HDNet Movies, and other combat sports properties. Earlier this year, TNA co-produced the live event The Border Brawl, which was streamed on the FAST channel Zone-ify.
Under this multi-year arrangement, TNAs Thursday Night Impact will debut on AMC, kicking off with a live event in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on January 15, followed by a stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the next week. The two-hour Thursday segment will air throughout the year and will also be available on the streaming platform AMC+.
Wrestling has consistently attracted viewers for cable networks despite declining linear TV ratings due to cord-cutting. From WWE on USA Network and CWs WWE Next to All Elite Wrestling on Warner Bros. Discovery, fans have multiple outlets for their wrestling fix. Streaming services are also increasingly entering this space, with Netflix recently acquiring a deal for WWE Raw.
Over the past two decades, TNA Wrestling has showcased iconic wrestlers such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Sting, AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, and Mickie James. The 202526 TNA roster features notable names including Jeff & Matt Hardy, Nic & Ryan Nemeth, TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian, Mike Santana, Steve Maclin, Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Santino Marella, Mustafa Ali, Moose, Elijah, Eric Young, Tessa Blanchard, and Ash By Elegance.
This year, TNA entered a multi-year collaboration with WWE and its NXT division, allowing WWE talent to appear on TNA shows and vice versa. In November, wrestlers such as Nic Nemeth and Matt Cardona appeared on WWE programming, while Leon Slater, Xia Brookside, and Li Yng Lee were featured on WWE/NXT.
Carlos Silva, President of TNA Wrestling, commented: We are thrilled to bring TNA Wrestlings thrilling matches and storylines to AMC. This partnership allows us to reach new audiences and expand the TNA fanbase through a respected network with a rich history of engaging viewers.
Dan McDermott, Chief Content Officer of AMC Networks and President of AMC Studios, praised TNAs growth, noting it is fueled by compelling characters, gripping storylines, and relentless in-ring action that fans eagerly follow.
