Bank of America reaffirms their recommendation to buy Nvidia (NVDA) due to their leadership in AI computing

Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) remains a key focus for analysts tracking the AI sector. On December 10, Bank of America reaffirmed its "Buy" rating on Nvidias stock with a price target of $275. The firm emphasized its decision to continue supporting the stock due to Nvidias dominant position in the rapidly expanding AI computing and networking markets.

The price target of $275 is based on a 28x projected price-to-earnings ratio (PE) for the year 2027, excluding cash holdings. This falls within Nvidias historical PE range of 25x to 56x, a valuation that analysts consider justified by the companys leadership in AI and networking, though concerns about the unpredictability of global AI projects, the cyclical nature of the gaming market, and power access remain risks.

Additionally, Nvidias stock has attracted attention recently after reports surfaced that U.S. President Donald Trump has approved the sale of Nvidias H200 AI chips to China. Previously, Nvidia had been restricted from selling advanced AI chips to China, but the new approval comes with conditions, including a revenue-sharing requirement. This move is aimed at slowing the progress of Chinas domestic chip industry.

Wall Street analysts currently have a consensus "Buy" rating for Nvidia, with an average price target of $250, indicating a 36% upside. However, some analysts have set a more optimistic target of $432, which suggests a potential upside of over 135% from the current price.

Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) is recognized for its AI-driven technology solutions, serving sectors such as data centers, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and cloud computing.

While Nvidias growth prospects remain strong, some investors believe that other AI stocks may offer greater upside potential with lower downside risk. For those seeking highly undervalued AI stocks poised to benefit from ongoing trends like tariffs and domestic manufacturing, there is a recommendation to check out a report on a promising short-term AI investment.
