Bari Weiss to host CBS News town hall featuring Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk

Bari Weiss, CBS News editor-in-chief, is set to host a town hall featuring Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, according to information obtained by the Guardian. The broadcast is scheduled for December 13 at 8:00 PM and will explore themes such as grief, faith, politics, and other personal topics, as indicated by internal promotional materials.

The recording will take place earlier, on December 10 at 12:00 PM, in New York City, according to an online registration form for potential attendees. This town hall marks a significant programming initiative for Weiss, who assumed her CBS role in October with a goal of presenting a broader range of political viewpoints.

Previously, Weiss played a key role in arranging a CBS interview on October 10 with former Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, conducted by journalist Norah ODonnell, although she did not appear on-screen for that segment. While Weiss herself has not yet appeared on CBS broadcasts, her sister, Suzy Weiss, has made appearances discussing her work for The Free Press on artificial diamonds. Both The Free Press and CBS News are under the ownership of Paramount Skydance, co-founded by the Weiss sisters.

CBS News has not publicly commented on the upcoming town hall, which has yet to be officially announced.
