As the 2025 NFL season approaches Week 14, the Cleveland Browns are focusing on evaluating young talent for next season and finalizing their 2026 draft positioning. Among those being assessed is quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who has displayed promise but still has critical areas to improve.
Injuries are shaping the teams immediate plans. Defensive tackle Maliek Collins has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, and offensive lineman Wyatt Teller will miss at least this weeks game.
On Tuesday, the Browns officially made several roster adjustments:
- Signed offensive lineman Jack Conley to the active roster.
- Placed DT Maliek Collins on injured reserve.
- Added DT Sam Kamara to the 53-man roster.
- Signed DT Simeon Barrow Jr., RB Ahmani Marshall, and LB Mark Robinson to the practice squad.
- Moved DE Julian Okwara to the practice squad injured list.
- Released LB Eugene Asante from the practice squad.
The Browns press release listed Jack Conley as a guard. Among the new additions, only Mark Robinson has prior NFL experience, having played 46 games with the New England Patriots, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers, including appearances this season.
Author's Analysis: Browns Roster Moves Signal Long-Term Focus
The Cleveland Browns’ recent roster adjustments highlight a dual approach: managing immediate injury challenges while preparing for the 2026 draft. With Maliek Collins out for the season and Wyatt Teller sidelined this week, the team has added depth along the defensive line and offensive front. Signing Jack Conley to the active roster addresses immediate line needs, while DT Sam Kamara and DT Simeon Barrow Jr. provide developmental options.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders remains under evaluation. His potential is clear, but the Browns are balancing his growth with the necessity of fielding a competitive team in the short term. The addition of Mark Robinson, the only player with significant NFL experience, brings a veteran presence to a largely inexperienced group.
Overall, these moves reflect a strategy focused on both resilience this season and building a foundation for 2026. The Browns appear committed to assessing young talent in live-game scenarios while maintaining roster flexibility to navigate injuries and draft considerations.
