Celebrating 'Home Alone' Anniversary with Record-Breaking Gingerbread Effort

Disney+ and Hulu are aiming to break a Guinness World Record by building a giant gingerbread replica of the McCallister house from Home Alone. This monumental project celebrates the 35th anniversary of the beloved Christmas film.

The gingerbread house will reach a height of 25.6 feet, stretching 58 feet in length and 42 feet in width. Its construction involves 5,700 pounds of flour and over 4,200 eggs. The design includes 4,400 gingerbread bricks and 800 roof tiles, all assembled using 20 gallons of edible glue and 20 pounds of fondant.

Construction is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, with public viewing planned for December 18 and 19, weather permitting.

In addition, Disney+ and Hulu are launching Little Nero's Prince St. Pizza pop-up locations in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Toronto from December 10 to 17. The pop-ups will offer themed pizza boxes, menus, collectible packaging, and a special lovely cheese pizza inspired by Kevins favorite order in the movie.

Home Alone, released in 1990, stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old left home alone while his family travels to France for Christmas. The film also features Catherine O'Hara, John Heard, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, Kieran Culkin, and John Candy. The classic movie has inspired five sequels, all of which are available on Disney+.
