Galaxy's Expansion into Tokenization

This new issuance is part of Galaxy Digital's broader strategy to explore and innovate in the field of tokenization. Previously, the firm had issued its Class A Common stock as Solana tokens and experimented with blockchain-based lending mechanisms, including an NFT representing a Stradivarius violin.

For this tokenized commercial paper offering, Circles USDC stablecoin was used for the issuance and redemption processes. JPMorgan played a key role by creating the token and handling the settlement process, ensuring that the transaction adhered to the delivery-versus-payment model.

Coinbase and Franklin Templeton's involvement provides institutional validation for the emerging structure of tokenized commercial paper. As part of the transaction, Coinbase also offered wallet services for the digital notes and facilitated the USDC on- and off-ramp operations.
