Elon Musk Acknowledges Difficulty in Spending Time with All His Children, Open to Welcoming More through Adoption

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, father to at least 13 children, has revealed that while it is challenging to spend time with all his kids, he is open to the idea of expanding his family through adoption. The 54-year-old entrepreneur acknowledged that managing time with his current children is already difficult, yet he jokingly hinted at wanting an even larger family.

Musk has children with several women: his first wife Justine Wilson, musician Grimes, and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. Additionally, conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair claims to have had a child with him in 2024, though Musk has not confirmed paternity. The billionaire, based in Texas, has previously expressed concern about global population decline and has publicly discussed his interest in increasing the human population.

During an appearance on the "WTF Is" podcast hosted by Nikhil Kamath, Musk confirmed he is not opposed to adoption. He humorously compared his current children to an army, saying, Im trying to get an entire Roman legion. He described his family structure as a mix of older adult children and younger ones, highlighting the difficulty of balancing time between them.

I definitely have my hands full right now, Musk admitted, noting that before the podcast he had spent time with his kids before bedtime. Beyond a certain number, its kind of impossible to spend time with them. He mentioned that his older children are independent, especially his sons, whom he sees only occasionally.

Musk reflected that the conventional family modelone child with one mother and one fatherworks for most people, but such a setup does not suit his lifestyle. Despite his busy schedule, he cited concerns about the planets future and declining population as motivations for considering adoption.

His known children include five from his first marriage: twins Vivian and Griffin, and triplets Saxon, Damian, and Kai. With Grimes, he has three children: X A-Xii (X), Exa Dark Siderl (Y), and Techno Mechanicus (Tau). With Shivon Zilis, he shares four children: twins Strider and Azure, Arcadia, and Seldon Lycurgus. The total may be higher, as some childrens existence was revealed only years after birth, and paternity of St. Clairs child remains unconfirmed.

Musks comments come shortly after news of a record-breaking Tesla pay package that could make him the worlds first trillionaire. Despite his wealth, he maintains a modest lifestyle, living in a rented $50,000 property in Boca Chica, Texas, and previously owning a few other homes, including a Los Angeles property once owned by Gene Wilder.

Although he is stretched thin managing time with his current children, Musks interest in adoption reflects his long-standing concerns about the future population and his desire to leave a lasting legacy through his family.
