Exclusive: Double Vision Partners with RisingJoy to Produce Microdramas for 'The Bridge'

Malaysian production company Double Vision has announced a strategic collaboration with microdrama distributor RisingJoy, marking its foray into the rapidly growing short-form content market. As part of the deal, Double Vision will take a minority stake in RisingJoy, a company founded by Cassandra Yang and Ricky Ow.

The partnership designates Double Vision as RisingJoys first official production partner for microdrama projects. The collaboration was revealed at the Asia TV Forum and Market in Singapore.

RisingJoy manages a library of over 500 hours of short-form content in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and English, distributing to more than twenty countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and South America. The company plans to launch RJoy, a co-branded streaming platform highlighting curated microdrama content. Since its 2021 inception, RisingJoy has focused on working with established regional operators to deliver co-branded microdrama services, combining its content expertise with partners existing platforms and audiences.

Double Vision brings 40 years of experience producing drama for Malaysian and wider Asian markets, including adaptations of The Bridge and Liar. Beyond content creation, Double Vision will support RisingJoys international expansion with services including music licensing, format documentation, adaptation support, and local production in key territories.

CEO Min Lim commented, I have long respected the work Cassandra and Ricky have done in building quality microdrama content and taking it to audiences worldwide. Investing in RisingJoy at this pivotal moment is extremely exciting. Lim added that Double Visions production capabilities will help accelerate RisingJoys growth trajectory. The company has several major international productions planned for 2026.

Yang described microdrama as having evolved from a niche curiosity into a global phenomenon, noting that the partnership positions RisingJoy to capitalize on this growth. Double Visions investment, production expertise, and international experience are key to helping RisingJoy achieve its global ambitions, she said.

This agreement follows Double Visions recent co-production deal with ABS-CBN and Astro Shaw to develop three new drama series over the next two to three years. The slate includes a reboot of the 2008 Filipino-Malaysian co-production A Time for Us, alongside the crime thriller Besa and the YA sci-fi series Habitat.
