Fox News host Jessica Tarlov didn't hold back in her critique of former President Donald Trump's economic policies. Tarlov stated, "The Trump team is well aware that the economy is struggling. Good luck trying to pin the blame on [Joe] Biden for an economic situation created by the GOP," in a post shared on X. She continued, "Trump is actively making the economy worse, and not in a productive way, but in a disastrous, dumpster-fire kind of way."
The Trump Team Concealing Economic Data?
Tarlov also accused the Trump administration of suppressing crucial economic data due to unfavorable results. We no longer get updates on job numbers, GDP, or inflation, she remarked during a recent segment on The Five. Donald Trump is known for sharing any positive numbers he can find or manipulate, but now that things look bad, the information is being hidden.
She continued to highlight the struggles of the American public, noting that a significant portion of the population is feeling the pressure of rising costs. With 70% of Americans reporting higher expenses, especially for groceries, its clear that blaming Biden for the current state of the economy is not resonating. This is a situation largely created by the GOP, she said.
Economic Troubles Confirmed by Media Reports
Tarlov referred to troubling economic indicators that have been backed by various media outlets: job layoffs nearing levels seen during the Great Recession, 70% of Americans paying more for groceries, 60% facing higher utility bills, and a continuous nine-month contraction in the manufacturing sector.
She rejected Republican claims that the issues are the result of Biden's policies, pointing out that Trump's administration bears responsibility for the current state. The argument that Biden, who's been out of office for a year, is still to blame for everything, especially when Trump implemented a new economic agenda that has faltered on nearly every front, simply isnt convincing to the public, Tarlov explained on Fox News.
Comparing Biden's Challenges to Trump's
Addressing the significant challenges Biden faced when he entered office, Tarlov said, Trump didnt inherit the same issues that Joe Biden did. Biden had to navigate a global pandemic and a major supply chain crisis. Trump didnt face those hurdles.
Trump's Trade Policies and the Farmer Bailout
Tarlov also criticized Trumps trade strategies, particularly his decision to impose tariffs and the subsequent $12 billion bailout for farmers. Trump never should have put those tariffs in place to begin with, she said. Farmers are speaking out, and its clear that this economic fallout is Trumps doing.
She referenced John Boyd Jr., President of the National Black Farmers Association, who has expressed that the agricultural sector has faced ongoing challenges since Trump reentered office. "This crisis is self-inflicted," Tarlov remarked, stressing that the turmoil was largely a result of Trumps policies.
