Kai Trump to Join Golf Channel Broadcast Team Next Weekend

Kai Trump, granddaughter of the former president and a recent golf commit to the University of Miami, will join the broadcast team for next weekends Optum Golf Channel Games as a special contributor. The live primetime event will feature top golfers Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler captaining four-player teams in a series of creative challenges.

The 18-year-old Trump will participate in instructional segments alongside commentator Johnson Wagner and will also take part in the trophy presentation at the conclusion of the event.

McIlroys squad includes Shane Lowry, Luke Donald, and Haotong Li, while Scheffler will lead Keegan Bradley, Sam Burns, and Luke Clanton. The competition will consist of five challenges: the Timed Drive Competition, Timed Short Game Competition, 14-Club Challenge, Timed Shootout, and Captains Challenge.

Current PGA Tour professional Keith Mitchell will provide expert analysis, while longtime Golf Channel announcer Steve Sands handles play-by-play commentary. Smylie Kaufman, Brad Faxon, and Johnson Wagner will cover on-course commentary, offering insights and live interviews throughout the event.

The games will take place at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, leaving open the possibility of an appearance by the elder Trump. Kai Trump, who occasionally plays with her grandfather, recently made her LPGA debut at the ANNIKA Driven by Gainbridge tournament at Pelican, shooting 13-over 83 in the first round and improving to 5-over 75 in the second round, though she did not make the cut.
