Mercy, a US healthcare provider, and Wellvana have entered into a 20-year partnership to broaden access to a value-focused care programme designed for independent primary care physicians and advanced practice providers. The initiative seeks to establish a clinically integrated network (CIN) that allows these healthcare professionals to participate in coordinated care models.
The programme combines Mercys population health capabilities with Wellvanas support platform, enabling more providers within Mercys service region to adopt value-based care approaches. Wellvana will assist participating providers with electronic medical record integration, clinical and operational teams, and payment systems tied to quality outcomes rather than service volume.
This approach encourages providers to prioritize patient outcomes and quality of care over the quantity of procedures delivered. By expanding engagement in this programme, Mercy and Wellvana aim to improve patient access to coordinated healthcare and help independent providers navigate care under Medicare Advantage, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans.
The collaboration is designed to reduce administrative burdens for independent providers while enhancing patient outcomes. The programme offers practice-level support, care coordination resources, and data-driven insights to each participating physician. To facilitate provider involvement, Mercy and Wellvana plan to host informational and networking events across Mercys communities, guiding physicians through participation opportunities.
Mercys president and CEO, Steve Mackin, stated: The future of healthcare relies on models that reward positive health results through collaboration. Partnering with Wellvana equips more physicians with the resources and guidance needed to deliver proactive, coordinated care, expanding access to services that help keep patients healthy and out of hospitals.
