Seen in the images: Shocking new photos of Epstein's private island

Previously unseen photographs and videos from the private island where Jeffrey Epstein abused and trafficked minors have been made public. The material, released by House Democrats on the oversight committee, provides an unprecedented glimpse inside Epsteins estate on Little St. James in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Spanning 72 acres in the Caribbean, the islandnicknamed Little St. Jeffs by Epsteinwas the site of horrific crimes against underage victims, some as young as 14. Often referred to as Epstein Island, it was central to the operations of the convicted sex offender.

The newly released visuals reveal the sprawling estate, including an outdoor pool flanked by small outbuildings, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a library, and a room resembling a dental office. One image shows a white-tiled shower area with towels and pillows stacked nearby, while another depicts a large oval bathtub accompanied by wicker chairs. Toiletries, such as shower gel and hair products, are lined up in several rooms.

The release intensifies calls for the Department of Justice to make public the governments complete files on Epstein. A law signed by Donald Trump mandates that all investigation materials be released in searchable and downloadable formats by December 19. The 10 images and four videos were originally captured by officials in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2020, one year after Epsteins suicide while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Robert Garcia, the leading Democrat on the oversight committee, stated: These images provide a disturbing insight into Epsteins world. We are releasing them to ensure transparency and help reconstruct the full scope of his crimes.

Footage shows an outdoor pool with a sculpture of a man aiming a bow and arrow, surrounded by palm trees and grey outbuildings with blue roofs. The islands isolation is evident, accessible only by boat or helicopter. One former victim recounted attempting to escape by swimming. Bedrooms seen in the images are sparsely decorated, often with white bedding, wooden furniture, and en-suite bathrooms stocked with toiletries.

Additional shots include a wood-paneled library with red armchairs facing a blackboard containing partially redacted words like power, deception, and political. A Panasonic landline phone with several contacts, some redacted, is also visible. Another image shows a dental chair in a white room adorned with masks, linking to Epsteins last girlfriend, who was a dentist.

Further images released later on Wednesday, totaling 150 photos and videos, depict personal items like black blindfolds on bedside tables, a projector in a dark art-filled room, and a framed photograph of Epstein shaking hands with the Pope alongside Ghislaine Maxwell. Artistic displays on the island include paintings, sculptures, and intricately decorated ceilings with mythological figures. Several black canes with animal-headed handles are also shown.

Some images display a Lorex CCTV system with 16 cameras, only three of which are operational, pointing outside the buildings. Garcia commented: Its difficult to comprehend the horrors that took place within these rooms. These images are crucial to understanding the reality of Epsteins crimes.
