Stadler to provide hybrid CITYLINK tram-trains for Danish city Aarhus

Stadler has entered into a contract with Aarhus Letbane to provide eight hybrid CITYLINK tram-trains for the Danish city of Aarhus, with an option for up to twelve additional units and spare parts support.

The vehicles will be engineered and produced at Stadlers facility in Valencia, Spain. Each tram-train will be equipped with traction batteries, ensuring continued operation even when overhead lines are obstructed by ice. This technology enables hybrid performance, promoting energy efficiency during daily service and autonomous operation when required.

The CITYLINK units are designed to operate seamlessly on both urban tram infrastructure and regional railway tracks. Each four-car train will hold up to 324 passengers, including 152 seats, with 16 foldable options.
