Wealthy Individual Escalates Flattery towards Trump

Billionaire Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, have announced a donation of $6.25 billion to fund specialized accounts for 25 million American children. This contribution will complement legislation passed earlier this year that deposits $1,000 into tax-deferred accounts for babies born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028.

The Dells donation is designed to cover children under 10 who are not eligible for the federal $1,000 benefit. Each qualifying child will receive $250 in seed money, which families can add to over time. If any funds remain, the couple intends to extend support to older children as well.

Initially named Invest America accounts, the program was renamed in the final legislation to honor President Trump. Some business leaders expressed concern over the renaming, preferring a neutral title such as 530A accounts.

The White House has credited President Trump with making the program possible. Critics, including some Democrats, argue the initiative may serve as a step toward privatizing Social Security, a point echoed by former Treasury official Scott Bessent.

White House spokesperson Kush Desai stated, Only President Trump couldve secured this historic win to help the next generation of Americans build wealth.

President Trump, 79, will host Michael Dell, 60, at the White House to recognize the donation, described by The New York Times as one of the largest philanthropic gifts ever to go directly to Americans. On social media, Trump praised the Dells, calling them TWO GREAT PEOPLE.

Dell, a longtime Republican donor, emphasized that the accounts are a bipartisan effort. In a social media post, he wrote, $6.25 billion. 25 million children. $250 each. Susan and I believe the smartest investment we can make is in children.

In interviews, Michael and Susan Dell avoided using the Trump-branded name for the accounts, referring to the initiative as Invest America. Susan Dell noted, This is a slightly different way of doing this, but the opportunity now is to do something really major and really touch 25 million children.

During a June White House roundtable with the president, Michael Dell did acknowledge the accounts using the Trump name and hinted at his upcoming donation. Forbes estimates Dells net worth at $148.5 billion. President Trump has not contributed personal funds to the program.
