Wordle tips for #1,628: Wednesday, December 3 clues and solution

Greetings! We hope your week has been going well. Today brings a new Wordle challenge, and we've prepared a helpful guide with hints and the solution for Wednesday's puzzle (#1,628).

About Wordle

Wordle is a straightforward daily word game launched in 2021. Each day, players attempt to guess a five-letter word through elimination. The same word is used for everyone globally. The game gained immense popularity in late 2021 after its creator, Josh Wardle, introduced an easy way to share results with friends using a spoiler-free emoji grid.

The game's success led to numerous imitators in various styles. In early 2022, The New York Times acquired Wordle, and in 2024, players collectively completed it 5.3 billion times. It's no wonder that Wordle remains a favorite online puzzle for daily play.

How to Play

Start by entering any five-letter word. Letters in the correct position will be highlighted in green, letters in the word but in the wrong spot will turn yellow, and letters not in the word will appear gray on the keyboard. Even grayed-out letters can still be used in future guesses. You have six attempts to uncover the correct word, and letters can appear more than once.

Wordle is available for free on the New York Times website, mobile apps, Meta Quest headsets, and Discord. The game updates daily at midnight local time. Logging into a NYT account allows tracking of stats like your win streak. Subscribers with full access can revisit an archive of over 1,600 past Wordle games. Paid members also have the Wordle Bot, which evaluates your performance on each puzzle.
