LARCHWOOD, IOWA As Thanksgiving leftovers dwindle, attention is shifting toward holiday sales. For farmers, this season also brings opportunities to get ready for spring planting. Just outside Larchwood, Iowa, the Farmers Business Network (FBN) operates its largest warehouse, stocked with a wide array of agricultural products.

We offer thousands of items across crop protection, crop nutrition, and livestock supplies, explained Tim Bjordal, an account manager at FBN. The network conducts sales exclusively online, and through December 12, farmers can take advantage of FBNs Cyber Days promotions.

During Cyber Days, we provide special offers and discounts, Bjordal said. These are typically the most competitive prices of the year because inventories are refreshed and products are priced to help farmers secure what they need early.

For those unable to store purchases over winter, FBN allows farmers to reserve products in their warehouse until spring. We can hold items in our facility and deliver them in time for planting season, Bjordal said, offering a convenient solution for storage challenges.

This approach helps farmers manage risks related to price fluctuations, tariffs, and supply chain issues. Locking in quantities ahead of the season ensures farmers know their costs and availability, reducing uncertainty before planting begins, Bjordal added.

Author's Analysis: Holiday Season Brings Opportunities for Farmers

The holiday season is a time for family gatherings and festive meals, but for farmers, it also signals a shift towards preparing for the spring planting season. As the year winds down and Thanksgiving leftovers fade away, farmers are turning their attention to sales events, with the Farmers Business Network (FBN) leading the charge with its Cyber Days promotions.

FBN, based just outside Larchwood, Iowa, is positioning itself as a key player in providing farmers with the tools they need for the upcoming planting season. By offering competitive prices on a wide range of agricultural products, from crop protection to livestock supplies, the network is creating an opportunity for farmers to stock up early and secure their necessary inventory.

The online-only sales model, with promotions running through December 12, provides a strategic advantage for farmers looking to lock in prices before potential market fluctuations or supply chain disruptions. By holding products in FBN's warehouse until spring, farmers can better manage storage issues while avoiding price hikes that typically accompany the spring rush.

As Tim Bjordal, an account manager at FBN, points out, this model not only helps farmers plan ahead but also provides a cushion against unpredictable market conditions, ensuring more stability as the new planting season approaches. By securing their orders now, farmers can enter the spring season with greater confidence in both cost and availability.
