Free Christmas parking during multi-storey construction

Shoppers in Leamington Spa will be able to enjoy free parking as the town prepares for the Christmas season, despite ongoing demolition work on a multi-storey car park.

From 1 to 28 December, over 80 parking spaces at Riverside House will be available at no cost, except on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

This initiative coincides with the continued demolition of the Covent Garden multi-storey car park, which has also resulted in the closure of the nearby surface car park.

Warwick District Councillor Will Roberts highlighted the importance of December for local businesses, stating that the council aims to support shops, services, and hospitality venues by encouraging more visitors during the festive period.

The Covent Garden car park, closed since 2023, is undergoing work to reduce its height, while the two lower levels are planned to be reopened for long-term parking in the future. Councillor Roberts confirmed that the nearby surface car park will remain closed until after the year ends and expressed gratitude for public understanding during the disruption.
