8 Must-Listen New Albums: Melody’s Echo Chamber, Redveil, and Others

With a constant stream of new music, choosing what to dive into can feel overwhelming. Each week, we highlight notable releases that have just landed on streaming platforms. This edition features works from Melodys Echo Chamber, Redveil, Western Vinyl, Voices From the Lake, the Deep, DJ Narciso, Dove Ellis, and Karri.

Melodys Echo Chamber: Unclouded [Domino]

Melody Prochet named her latest project Unclouded after a quote from Hayao Miyazaki about achieving balance and clearing away negativity to welcome acceptance. Following 2018s Bon Voyage, this album embraces airy psych-pop, featuring rolling basslines and dreamlike, reverb-soaked vocals. Tracks like Eyes Closed, The House That Doesnt Exist, and Flowers Turn Into Gold evoke the surrealism of 1970s cinema. Collaborations with members of Dungen and Heliocentrics enhance Prochets serene, imaginative vision.

Redveil: Sankofa [Fashionably Early]

On Sankofa, Redveil steps fully into the dual role of rapper and producer. The album blends jazz-infused beats, soulful harmonies, and intentionally rough-edged production, reflecting his unique artistic vision. Standout tracks include Mini Me, a collaboration with Smino called Brown Sugar, and Lone Star featuring Carolyn Malachi. The latter half of the album underscores why Redveil remains an exciting, ambitious young talent.

V/A: Passages: Artists in Solidarity With Immigrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers [Western Vinyl]

This compilation supports Texan organizations aiding immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Contributors such as Dirty Projectors, Alan Sparhawk, and Daniel Lopatin created songs in spaces that felt like home, reflecting on the fragility of the concept. Other featured artists include Tim Heidecker, Bonnie Prince Billy, William Tyler, Lambchop, Lonnie Holley, and Benjamin Booker.

Voices From the Lake: II [Spazio Disponibile]

Thirteen years after their debut, Italian electronic duo Donato Dozzy and Neel return as Voices From the Lake. Their new album II is a 45-minute exploration of ambient synths and soft, diffuse percussion, blending continuation with reinvention. The duo describes the project as evolving organically, embracing its full potential despite initial pauses in production.

The Deep: KPop B!tch [Self-Released]

Independent artist the Deep, formerly of Morethan7, debuts with KPop B!tch. The album fuses UK garage, hyperpop, hip-hop, and blog house into high-energy, layered productions. Collaborators include Frost Children, Dorian Electra, and Kimj.

DJ Narciso: Dentro De Mim [Svbkvlt]

Lisbon-based DJ Narciso presents Dentro De Mim, a seven-track EP complemented by remixes from Swimful and Kop-Z. The originals combine thick, engaging beats with nostalgic motifs, translating personal memories into danceable, immersive experiences within Portugals underground scene.

Dove Ellis: Blizzard [Black Butter/AMF]

On his debut Blizzard, Dove Ellis merges expansive American folk-pop with the intricate textures of Irish musical traditions. Released following his tour with Geese, the album highlights a transatlantic sensibility that sets him apart within the South London folk landscape.

Karri: Slider II [PFL]

Since his viral success with 2023s 3AM in Oakland, Karri has evolved into a master of sultry R&B and late-night storytelling rooted in Bay Area influences. Slider II, the follow-up to Late Night Slider Music, features tracks like Go, a collaboration with Kehlani reinterpreting E-40s Tell Me When to Go.
