A Highly-Anticipated Show Premiered on HBO Max with Major Mistakes

The highly awaited 4K remaster of Mad Men on HBO Max has arrived, but viewers quickly noticed several on-screen mistakes and incorrectly labeled episodes.

Warner Bros. had previously announced the remaster, promising fans a chance to experience the series with sharper visuals and enhanced detail, highlighting the shows meticulously crafted production elements.

While the first four seasons were originally filmed on 35mm, the improved resolution made certain errors more obvious. For instance, in a Season 1 episode, crew members and a vomit bag appeared in the background during a scene where Roger Sterling (John Slattery) becomes ill at the office.

Another error appeared in a Season 2 episode intended to show Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss) walking through 1960s New York. Instead, viewers noticed a Mexican restaurant sign with a Los Angeles area code and a modern advertisement for cell phone SIM cards.

The Hollywood Reporter indicated that Lionsgate mistakenly delivered the wrong episode versions to HBO Max, and the network is now in the process of replacing them with the correct editions.

Mad Men originally aired on AMC from 2007 to 2015, spanning seven seasons and 92 episodes. Set in 1960s New York, the series follows advertising executive Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and his colleagues at a Madison Avenue agency.

During its original run, the series was highly acclaimed, earning 116 Emmy nominations and winning 16. Fans still have the option to watch the unremastered version on AMC.
