Just before the 2025 Good Things Festival in Australia, both All-American Rejects and Knocked Loose announced they will not be performing due to urgent family matters. In their place, Sydneys rock band Stand Atlantic and Melbourne-based metalcore group Alpha Wolf will take over the festival slots.
All-American Rejects were scheduled for a three-show festival run along with additional headline performances, but the band shared that a sudden family loss prevents them from attending. A statement from the band, issued via the festival organizers, read: "We are heartbroken to announce that due to an unexpected family tragedy, we cannot make it to Australia as planned. This has been an incredibly challenging time, and while we are devastated to miss the chance to see our Australian fans, family must come first. We are already planning our return and look forward to being back as soon as possible."
Knocked Loose released a similar message emphasizing the importance of family: "Those close to us know cancelling shows is never taken lightly; but family always comes first. We are making plans to return and cant wait to see everyone soon. Love you all."
Since its debut in 2018, Good Things Festival has grown into one of Australias most popular heavy music events. The 2025 lineup includes Tool, Weezer, and Garbage, beginning Friday, December 5 at Melbournes Flemington Racecourse, continuing Saturday at Sydney Showground, and concluding Sunday at Brisbane Showgrounds.
The festival organizers added a message of solidarity: "Life can be unpredictable, and moments like these remind us of the importance of supporting one another and valuing the experiences that connect us. Good Things isnt just about music; its about community. Over the years, youve become like family to us. We stand together in the highs and lows, and this situation is no different."
All-American Rejects recently released "Eggshell Tap-Dancer," the third single from their forthcoming album due in February 2026. They are set to kick off SXSW 2026 at the Music Festival Opening Party at Stubbs Amphitheater in Austin, Texas on March 12. The band first rose to fame in the 2000s, with their 2003 debut reaching No. 25 on the Billboard 200 and 2005s Move Along hitting No. 6, propelled by the hit single "Dirty Little Secret" reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Knocked Loose achieved their first No. 1 on Billboards Top Hard Rock Albums chart last year with You Wont Go Before Youre Supposed To. On the Billboard 200, the album debuted at No. 23, surpassing the previous peak of No. 26 with A Different Shade of Blue.
