Alyssa Farah Griffin addressed her absence from this weeks episodes of The View, explaining that health issues have kept her away. The 36-year-old TV host shared the update on Instagram, revealing that shes been unwell.
Griffin, who is more than six months pregnant with her first child, emphasized the importance of self-care during this time. Ive been down with a stomach virus, but I hope to be back on The View soon, she wrote. Its no fun being sick while 6 + months pregnant! Remember to stay healthy use hand sanitizer and stay home if youre not feeling well.
Back in October, Alyssa and her husband Justin Griffin announced they are expecting a baby boy in February 2026. The couple, married since November 2021, shared with PEOPLE their journey to parenthood, describing it as both exciting and emotional. Alyssa recalled the first time she felt the baby move and how she immediately shared the moment with Justin, calling it magical.
They also discussed their path to conception, noting that they turned to in vitro fertilization after trying naturally for two years. During this time, Alyssa discovered she had endometriosis, a condition that complicated her pregnancy journey. After five rounds of IVF, they successfully became pregnant. We feel incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity for multiple IVF rounds, Alyssa said, calling it a miracle of science.
Looking ahead, Alyssa and Justin expressed their joy at expecting a son. Alyssa joked about being outnumbered at home since they have two male dogs but shared excitement about raising a boy and planning a family of two children. Justin reflected on recreating childhood memories with their own child, hoping to provide a loving and close-knit environment.
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
Author's Comment: Health Struggles and Parenthood Journey
Alyssa Farah Griffin's absence from this week's episodes of The View sheds light on the reality of balancing a high-profile career with the demands of pregnancy and health. At over six months pregnant, Griffin's candid update on Instagram about battling a stomach virus highlights the importance of self-care during such a critical time. The 36-year-old host's advice to stay healthy and practice good hygiene resonates with many viewers, especially those dealing with similar health challenges.
Griffin's message comes as a reminder of the personal sacrifices that come with public life. Despite the excitement surrounding her pregnancy, the 36-year-old is navigating not only the joys of expecting her first child but also the complications posed by endometriosis. The couple’s journey through IVF and the emotional highs and lows they experienced provides insight into the struggles many face while trying to grow their families. It’s evident that while the science of IVF has opened doors to parenthood, it also comes with its own set of emotional and physical challenges.
As Griffin prepares for the arrival of her son, the journey is one filled with gratitude and anticipation. The couple’s shared excitement about raising a child and creating a close-knit family stands in stark contrast to the trials they endured to reach this point. Her story serves as both an inspiration and a reminder of the resilience required during such a life-changing period.
