Another Superstar Beats Taylor Swift to Become Spotify’s Top Artist of 2025

Spotify revealed on Wednesday that Bad Bunny has claimed the title of the platforms most-streamed global artist for 2025. The Puerto Rican rapper amassed an impressive 19.8 billion streams worldwide, surpassing Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish, who completed the top five rankings. Other artists rounding out the Top 10 include Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Arijit Singh, and Fuerza Regida.

Spotifys annual Wrapped feature highlights the most popular artists, songs, and genres each year while also offering unique insights like listening age, which compares a users music preferences to others in their age group.

This marks Bad Bunnys fourth time topping Spotifys global charts, having previously led in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Swift held the top spot in 2023 with Bad Bunny in second place, followed by third-place in 2024 behind Swift and The Weeknd. Benito Antonio Martnez Ocasio, professionally known as Bad Bunny, reclaimed the crown after completing his No Me Quiero Ir de Aqu residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and releasing his hit album DeB TiRAR MS FOToS earlier in January, which also became the most-streamed album worldwide.

Other highly-streamed albums globally include KPop Demon Hunters by the KPop Demon Hunters Cast, HUNTR/X, and Saja Boys; HIT ME HARD AND SOFT by Billie Eilish; SOS Deluxe: LANA by SZA; and Short n Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter.

In the United States, Spotify rankings differ slightly. Taylor Swift leads as the most-streamed artist, followed by The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish, with Bad Bunny ranking fifth. The top albums in the U.S. are Im The Problem by Morgan Wallen, SOS Deluxe: LANA by SZA, DeB TiRAR MS FOToS by Bad Bunny, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, and GNX by Kendrick Lamar.

The Grammy-winning reggaetn star is slated to perform at the Apple Music Halftime Show at the 2026 Super Bowl in California, sparking controversy among some political groups.
