Ariana Grande Assisted Other Celebrities with Auditions for Glinda in “Wicked”, Reveals Vocal Coach Eric Vetro (Exclusive)

Eric Vetro has shared insights about his experience coaching Ariana Grande for her role in Wicked and Wicked: For Good. According to Vetro, Grande not only prepared herself for the part of Glinda but also assisted other actresses in getting ready for their auditions.

She actually suggested to some of the other performers, 'You should definitely work with Eric on this,' Vetro said from his home in Los Angeles. She even brought one of them over and they practiced together here. That was incredible to see.

Grandes mother, Joan, was initially surprised by her daughters willingness to help potential rivals for the same role. Vetro explained, Her mom asked, 'Is she serious? Why would she help them?' And I told her, 'Thats just who she is. Shes genuinely generous.'

Vetro highlighted that Arianas motivation stemmed from both confidence and a deep love for the project. She wanted the right person to shine, even while she was fully prepared herself. It was remarkable to witness, he added.

The vocal coach also recalled receiving a call from another actress Ariana had recommended for coaching. I thought, 'Wow, shes actively encouraging competitors for the role.' That really shows her character, he said.

Ultimately, Ariana secured the role of Glinda and went on to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the first Wicked film. Vetro praised her approach during the process, noting her combination of confidence and humility. Shes confident but never arrogant or entitled. Her confidence comes from dedication and hard work, he said.

Working with her is special because she brings both seriousness and joy to the process. She has a sharp sense of humor and makes the experience enjoyable, Vetro added.
