BravoCon has wrapped up once again, but Shep Roses controversial actions continue to spark discussion. Austen Kroll, his co-star from Southern Charm, seems familiar with the type of drama Shep stirred up. During the event, Shep was filmed at a bar questioning the authenticity of Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbos relationship.
It was a sham the whole time, right? he asked. They profited off reality TV, and then she ended things with Craig on her podcast! Do you realize how messed up that is?
While its unclear why Shep is fixated on Craig and Paige, Austen offered some insight into Sheps inability to move on. Recently appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Austen was asked whether Sheps BravoCon rant held any truth.
I caught bits of it before. Ive heard him go on like that. I cant speak to the accuracy, but I think he really just needs to let it go, Austen explained. For someone who usually moves past so much, its odd that this situation affects him. I sort of understand, but not entirely. He feels that Paige and Craig didnt endure what he experienced with Taylor [Ann Green].
He continued, I think in his mind, that seems unfair.
Host Andy Cohen pressed for details about Sheps past, asking, What exactly happened with Taylor? Austen replied, It was very public even during the reunion, Taylor confronted him for hours.
Madison LeCroy, another Southern Charm cast member, joked, Its only three hours. Andy Cohen added that Craig had a similar intense moment with Paige during the Summer House reunion.
Southern Charm airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
What are your thoughts on Austens take regarding Sheps rant? Does his explanation make sense, and why cant Shep move on?
Author Commentary: Shep Rose’s BravoCon Behavior
Observing the events at BravoCon, it is clear that Shep Rose’s actions continue to draw attention, not just for drama but for the lingering personal conflicts they reveal. Austen Kroll’s perspective sheds light on Shep’s fixation, suggesting that past experiences with Taylor Ann Green may explain his heightened reaction to Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo’s relationship.
Austen emphasized that while he cannot confirm the accuracy of Shep’s statements, the emotional weight behind them appears significant. Unlike his usual approach of moving past conflicts, Shep seems unable to let go, possibly because he perceives an imbalance in how relationships are experienced within the cast.
This pattern underscores a recurring theme in reality TV dynamics: unresolved personal history can amplify reactions to seemingly unrelated situations. Shep’s behavior, viewed through Austen’s lens, appears less about the current relationships and more about processing his own past public challenges.
