Blackpink's Lisa to headline Netflix's new thriller 'Tygo' in the 'Extraction' Universe

Lisa is preparing for her return to the screen, as Netflix confirmed Thursday the upcoming release of Tygo a high-intensity action film connected to the Extraction franchise. The project will feature Blackpink member Lisa alongside Korean star Don Lee and actor Lee Jin-uk.

Its an honor to join this film and work with such remarkable talent, Lisa shared. Ive always dreamed of being part of an action movie, and having my first role in one this exciting feels unreal.

Directed by Lee Sang-yong, the movie centers on Tygo, a former child soldier who seeks vengeance against Koreas criminal underworld after a failed mission changes his life.

Angela Russo-Otstot, producer and chief creative officer of AGBO, noted that the film expands the Extraction universe through a South Korean perspective. She highlighted the collaboration with Don Lee and director Lee Sang-yong, praising the intense choreography and cinematic style of the production.

The Extraction films originated from the graphic novel Ciudad, created by Anthony and Joe Russo with Ande Parks. Tygo will stand alongside the franchises earlier releases Extraction (2020) and Extraction 2 (2023) both major hits, with the first reaching more than 90 million households in its debut month. The new series continues the expansion of the universe and features actors Omar Sy, Boyd Holbrook, and Natalie Dormer.

Lisas role in Tygo marks her second acting appearance, following her performance as Mook in The White Lotus earlier this year.
