Blake Lively urges for Justin Baldoni's case to go to trial, according to report

Blake Livelys attorneys have formally requested that her legal case against Justin Baldoni move forward to trial. In a recent filing, her legal team detailed reasons why the court should reject Baldonis previous attempt to have the case dismissed.

Last month, Baldonis legal representatives submitted a motion for summary judgment, asking Judge Lewis J. Liman to throw out Livelys lawsuit. They argued that her complaints consisted of minor grievances and were not serious enough to establish an objectively hostile or abusive workplace (via The Wrap).

On December 4, Livelys lawyers responded with a new motion, insisting the case deserves a full trial. They stated, This is not merely a series of minor annoyances stemming from creative differences, but a situation involving a toxic work environment.

The filing also criticized Baldonis team for allegedly promoting a victimization narrative to deflect responsibility for the alleged hostile conditions on the set of their 2024 film, It Ends With Us (via Deadline). According to the motion, Baldonis team is attempting to avoid trial and deny Blake Lively her day in court by broadly challenging her claims of sexual harassment and retaliation. Livelys attorneys countered, These scattershot defenses fail against the weight of overwhelming evidence.

The 72-page submission further states that Baldonis efforts to portray Livelya mother of four with extensive industry experience seeking a safe workplaceas a bully who dominated the production, does not address the harassment, retaliation, or defamation claims she has raised.

The trial for Blake Livelys lawsuit against Justin Baldoni is set for March 2026. Despite ongoing legal arguments over dismissal, there is currently no indication that the parties are considering a settlement.
