Blumhouse-Atomic Monster and James Wan to Produce New 'Paranormal Activity' Movie for Paramount

The chilling Paranormal Activity franchise is set to return with a brand-new installment as Blumhouse and Atomic Monster join forces with Paramount Pictures. The upcoming project will be co-financed and co-produced by Paramount and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, with Paramount overseeing global distribution.

Plot details remain secret, but the film is prioritized as a key development for all involved. James Wan, who spearheaded the successful Conjuring series, will serve as producer for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, while Oren Peli, the creator of the original Paranormal Activity, will produce for Solana Films.

Wan commented on his involvement: Ive always admired Paranormal Activity for its slow-building suspense and subtle ability to make the unseen terrifying. Im excited to contribute to its legacy and help shape the next chapter of this iconic found-footage horror series.

Jason Blum will return as producer, alongside Steven Schneider, who will executive produce for Room 101, Inc. Blum added, Working with James to bring new life to the franchise that launched Blumhouse is a dream come true. While our budget is bigger than the original $15,000, the core experience remains the samedont watch it alone.

The original 2007 Paranormal Activity earned nearly $194 million worldwide, and the series has since grown to seven films, including Paranormal Activity 2 (2010), Paranormal Activity 3 (2011), Paranormal Activity 4 (2012), The Marked Ones (2014), The Ghost Dimension (2015), and Next of Kin (2021).

Paramount Pictures co-chairs Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg praised the collaboration: Reigniting Paranormal Activity with the creative vision of James and Jason sets the stage for an exciting new chapter.
