‘Boston Blue’ and ‘Sheriff Country’ both set for Season 2 on CBS

CBS has confirmed that both Boston Blue and Sheriff Country will return for a second season. Each series is a spinoff, with Boston Blue branching from Blue Bloods and Sheriff Country originating from Fire Country. The upcoming seasons are scheduled for the 202627 TV lineup.

These two Friday night series quickly captured audience attention, with BOSTON BLUE and SHERIFF COUNTRY gaining strong followings across broadcast and streaming, said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. Renewing them early highlights the strength of character-driven plots, engaging storytelling, and the remarkable talent both in front of and behind the camera that makes these shows stand out.

Sheriff Country

Set in the small town of Edgewater, California, Sheriff Country follows Sheriff Mickey Fox as she tackles criminal investigations while managing intricate family relationships. The cast includes Morena Baccarin as Mickey Fox, Matt Lauria as Nathan Boone, W. Earl Brown as Wes Fox, Christopher Gorham as Travis Fraley, and Michele Weaver as Cassidy Campbell.

The show is produced by CBS Studios. Executive producers are Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Matt Lopez, along with Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed for Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

Boston Blue

Boston Blue follows former NYPD Detective Danny Reagan as he transitions to the Boston Police Department, partnering with Detective Lena Silver. The main cast features Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan, Sonequa Martin-Green as Lena Silver, Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver, Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Mika Amonsen as Sean Reagan, and Ernie Hudson as Reverend Edwin Peters.
