Josh McDermitt, recognized for his role as Eugene on "The Walking Dead," is set to appear on CBS' Fire Country in a recurring capacity, Deadline reports. His character becomes part of a complex romantic entanglement.
As previously reported by TVLine, Alona Tal ("SEAL Team") joins the show as Chloe, a woman whose life intersects with Bode when her rebellious teenage son faces trouble. Chloe was once Bode's peer tutor, and both secretly held feelings for each other, though they never acted on them at the time.
However, McDermitt plays Landon, described as Chloe's partner and a father figure to her son. According to Deadline, Landon is aware of Tyler's recent anger and rebellious behavior but is surprised when he learns that Tyler ran away. McDermitt is expected to make his debut on the episode airing Friday, Dec. 5 (CBS, 9/8c).
Jaren Lewison ("Never Have I Ever") has joined CBS' vampire comedy pilot Eternally Yours, created by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman of Ghosts, Variety reports. Lewison will portray Max, a hopeless romantic whose new girlfriend, Emma, is a commitment-averse vampire with a father who dislikes humans. Ed Weeks ("The Mindy Project") has been cast as Emmas father.
Matthew Macfadyen ("Succession") and Charlie Hunnam ("Monster: The Ed Gein Story") will star in Legacy of Spies, an eight-episode series for MGM+ and the BBC. Production is set to begin in early 2026. The show adapts John le Carr's 1963 novel The Spy Who Came In From the Cold while incorporating elements from his 2017 novel A Legacy of Spies. Daniel Brhl ("The Alienist") and Devrim Lingnau Islamolu ("The Empress") also star. Stephen Cornwell ("The Night Manager") serves as showrunner, with Clarissa Ingram as co-writer, and executive producers include Graham Yost ("Justified") and Malte Grunert ("All Quiet on the Western Front").
Nicholas Hoult ("The Great") and Daisy Edgar-Jones ("Normal People") will lead the six-episode Hulu comedy Mosquito, Deadline reports. From Tony McNamara, creator of The Great, the series follows Ed and Kate, a newlywed couple whose hidden secrets surface as daily life gradually reveals their true selves, all triggered by an intrusive mosquito.
Jack Alldridge ("Death by Lightning") has been cast as the lead in Hulus young-adult drama pilot Foster Dade, based on Nash Jenkins' novel Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos. The story spans 2008 and the present day, focusing on a sophisticated mystery set at an East Coast boarding school, exploring privilege, scandal, sexuality, and masculinity amid social media, millennial anxieties, and pharmaceuticals.
