Coco Jones discusses Grammy nominations and dream collaborators

Coco Jones, recognized at the 10th annual Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular, earned a 2026 Grammy nomination for her debut album Why Not More? in November. This marks her eighth acknowledgment from the Recording Academy, each one a result of hard work she never fully anticipated.

Speaking with will.i.am for Uproxx, Coco explained, "I dont expect these things but I do, and I dont. You work toward goals. Im not thinking, Hope nobody hears this! I focus on what I can control, which is myself. So its both yes and no."

She added, "Im not going to act like I predicted it. If I could see the future, Id be a bajillionaire!"

Coco emphasized the effort she invests in her music, saying she works as if she wants to earn awards, and feels relief when her work receives recognition. "When things are nominated, appreciated, or loved even by my fans I feel 'whew!' That work was intense. I hold my projects to a high standard, and I hope others see the quality."

Her debut album, Why Not More?, launched in April and features contributions from YG Marley, London on da Track, and Future. When discussing dream collaborations, Coco mentioned Jazmine Sullivan and PartyNextDoor. "I adore Jazmine Sullivan. Wed create something soulful and amazing together. I also love PartyNextDoor," she shared. "I enjoy modern R&B relaxed, cool, and laid-back. I feel Im not cool as hell, just authentic. But Id love to do something mysterious and cool."
