Creator of 'Alien: Earth' Rules Out 'Predator' Crossover in Show

Despite the recent return of the Predator franchise into the Alien universe, it seems a crossover in the opposite direction is not on the horizon. Noah Hawley, creator of Alien: Earth, stated that his FX series will not feature any appearances from the Predator species, known as the Yautja. This comes even after the Predator universe was revisited in Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands, which is currently showing in theaters.

Speaking on the Smartless podcast, Hawley commented, "No, not onto the show, I dont think. I think Dan Trachtenberg, who made Prey and has done the Badlands movie you know, I loved Prey. Hes doing a great job with that franchise and clearly has a plan there. Ive met Dan once, but were not coordinating any of that stuff. So, its not really my plan to do it."

Trachtenberg, meanwhile, highlighted that Badlands already incorporates elements of the Alien universe through the Weyland-Yutani corporation. He explained, "Badlands itself is definitely a crossover in that we have the Weyland-Yutani corporation as a huge part of the movie" referring to Elle Fannings character Thia, a Weyland-Yutani synthetic. He added, "Theres sometimes a tendency for a 'versus' movie to just mash everything together, but I thought it was really cool to take one element from one franchise and integrate it into this one."

Although no immediate Alien vs. Predator collaboration is planned by the current creative teams, the director of Alien: Romulus previously expressed interest in working with Trachtenberg on a potential crossover.

Meanwhile, Alien: Earth has been renewed for a second season on FX.
