David Lettermans acclaimed series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction is set to return on December 16 with a fresh lineup of notable personalities. The trailer for Season Six shows Letterman engaging in playful activities with his guests, including throwing darts with Michael B. Jordan and hitting home runs alongside Jason Bateman. He also has a curious exchange with internet sensation MrBeast, exploring unusual topics with his signature humor.
The preview highlights a mix of energetic adventures and in-depth interviews with prominent figures from film, television, and digital media. At Dodger Stadium, Bateman jokes about feeling like a semi-man, while Letterman and Jordan discuss video games, with Jordan correcting the hosts claim that he has never played one.
Earlier this year, Netflix confirmed the renewal of My Next Guest for both Seasons Six and Seven. The previous season featured conversations with Miley Cyrus, Charles Barkley, and Caitlin Clark. Past episodes have included high-profile guests such as Barack Obama, Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jay-Z, Robert Downey Jr., Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Dave Chappelle, and Billie Eilish.
The series has earned Emmy recognition, including a win in 2024 for the special with John Mulaney, awarded Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special. Executive producers include Tom Keaney and Mary Barclay for Worldwide Pants, alongside Justin Wilkes, Michael Steed, Isabel Richardson, and Yolanda T. Cochran for Jax Media/Imagine Entertainment.
Additionally, a special episode aired on December 1 featuring Adam Sandler, where Letterman met the comedian backstage during his tour to discuss stand-up, movies, and music. Reflecting on his ongoing career, Letterman has stated that he finds continued joy in his work and has no plans to retire, calling the concept of retirement nonsense.
