Diane Kruger is currently enjoying a remarkable phase in her career, taking on roles she describes as the work she has "always dreamed of." The German actress, 49, has already released three projects in 2025 and will finish the year with the Paramount+ thriller Little Disasters.

In Little Disasters, Kruger portrays a stay-at-home mother whose life is thrown into turmoil when social services intervene after her infant daughter's head injury cannot be explained. The series, adapted from Sarah Vaughan's 2020 novel, explores the emotional and relational complexities of parenthood while delivering an engaging mystery.

"Suddenly, a lot of incredible projects started coming my way," Kruger shared. "The past two years have been amazing, allowing me to do work Ive always aspired to, and its finally coming together." She notes that this surge in opportunities extends beyond her personal experience. "There are now significantly more roles available for women, especially for those of us my age," she added.

Recently, Kruger has been drawn to international projects, including French-language productions. She highlighted The Seduction, an HBO period drama inspired by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' Les Liaisons Dangereuses, as a particularly rewarding experience. "Being back in France to explore French-language work has been incredibly fulfilling," she explained.

Following the birth of her daughter, Nova, in 2018, Kruger took a significant pause from acting. "I didnt work for about eight months after her birth, and it took nearly two years to feel like myself again," she said. Now, with Nova aged seven, Kruger feels ready to fully embrace her career once more.

In Little Disasters, she plays Jess, a mother whose life unravels after her infant daughter suffers a mysterious injury. The intervention of her friend, ER doctor Liz (Jo Joyner), sets off a series of life-changing events for Jess and those around her. Kruger was drawn to the role because of its relatable themes and the opportunity to explore the realities of modern parenthood. "I loved the premise and Sarah Vaughans work. The show combines an entertaining mystery with an authentic portrayal of motherhood and partnerships," she said.

Little Disasters will premiere on Paramount+ on December 11, 2025.
