Mirpoorian noted, Julie has been part of Jonathans life for over 15 years. Weve long wanted to tell this story; it was a matter of timing. Oppenheim explained how quickly the project came together: Julie reached out just before the Fourth of July, and we had to decide on the spot to film. It was a leap of faith, but it felt right.

The documentary, winner of the 2025 Critics Choice Documentary Award for Best Short Doc, benefits from the involvement of Oscar-winning actor Brendan Fraser as executive producer. Fraser expressed emotional connection to the project during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
