Marking 35 years since its debut, Home Alone is being celebrated in a big way by Disney+, offering fans multiple interactive experiences this holiday season. Written by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus, the 1990 classic launched Macaulay Culkin into stardom and remains a beloved Christmas tradition around the world.
The story follows 8-year-old Kevin McCallister, played by Culkin, who is accidentally left behind when his parents depart for a Paris vacation. Left to his own devices, Kevin sets up clever traps around his Chicago home to fend off two intruders, including a memorable encounter with the local pizza delivery boy from the fictional Little Neros Pizzeria.
As part of the festivities, from December 1017, Disney+ is collaborating with Prince Street Pizza to transform two of their locationsin Los Angeles and Chicagointo real-life Little Neros Pizzerias. The restaurants will be decorated with Home Alone memorabilia, refreshed signage, themed menu boards, and custom pizza boxes for fans to enjoy an immersive experience.
Additionally, from December 1721, Disney+ is partnering with CLEAR for airport activations across the U.S. Travelers named Kevin who use CLEAR lanes will receive a code for complimentary CLEAR Concierge service for a future trip, while all other CLEAR members can collect Home Alone-inspired ornaments at nine participating airports: ATL, DEN, EWR, JFK, LAX, LGA, MCO, ORD, and SEA.
Disney+ also aims to set a Guinness World Record by constructing the worlds largest gingerbread house, featuring Home Alone themes along with nods to other holiday favorites, from December 1921.
Fans can look forward to special anniversary events as well. Criterion Pictures and Standing Ovations LLC are hosting nationwide screenings titled A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin, including live interviews where Culkin shares behind-the-scenes stories. D23s On the Road tour will bring interactive Home Alone experiences to 19 cities, complete with themed activities and giveaways.
The Home Alone series has expanded into a six-film franchise, all available on Disney+ and set to be added to Hulu starting December 1, allowing fans to relive Kevins adventures this holiday season.
