Euphoria Season 3 Updates: Premiere Dates, Time Jumps, Cast Updates, and More

Get ready to bring out your glittery makeup again, because Euphoria season 3 is gradually becoming a reality. The cliffhanger ending of season 2 left fans with plenty of questions, and production delaysincluding controversies, the SAG-AFTRA strike, and writing setbacksled to a more than four-year gap between the two seasons.

When Will Euphoria Season 3 Premiere?

HBO initially announced on November 2, 2023, that season 3 was scheduled for 2025. However, filming was postponed multiple times, prompting HBO to reassure viewers that the project was still in progress. An HBO spokesperson told Variety in March 2024, HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the meantime, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.

Deadline reported that Levinson was still working on scripts in early 2024. Later, in November, HBO and Max Content CEO Casey Bloys confirmed that filming would start in mid to late January 2025. Filming officially began in February 2025, and after ten months of production, HBO announced that season 3 will debut in April 2026.

Season 3 Will Feature a Time Jump

Reflecting the long break between seasons, the story will resume five years after the events of season 2. Sam Levinson explained during an HBO Max presentation on December 3, 2025, that the five-year gap made sense, especially for characters who would have completed college by this point. Zendaya had hinted at this direction as early as August 2022, expressing interest in exploring the characters lives beyond high school.

Levinson also shared story details, including Rues struggles in Mexico and Cassies life in the suburbs with Nate. Cassie and Nate do in fact get married. Im confirming it. And I promise that it will be an unforgettable night, he teased.

Returning Cast Members

The main cast returning for season 3 includes Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Martha Kelly, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, Chloe Cherry, and Colman Domingo. Additional returning actors confirmed later include Dominik Fike, Nika King, Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson, and Zak Steiner.

Departing Cast Members

Some characters will not return. Algee Smith, Austin Abrams, Barbie Ferreira (Kat), and Storm Reid (Gia) have exited the show. Tragically, Angus Cloud, who played Fez, passed away in July 2023 at age 25, and the cast has shared heartfelt tributes to him.

New Cast Members

Exciting additions include pop star Rosala, Marshawn Lynch, Toby Wallace, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Kadeem Hardison, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hbert, and Anna Van Patten. HBO released a first look at Rosala, though her characters details remain under wraps. Rosala expressed her enthusiasm for joining the series and contributing to Sam Levinsons vision.

Other Details

Levinson described season 3 as having a film noir feel, with Zendayas Rue exploring personal principles in a complex world. Beyond these glimpses, additional plot information remains scarce, but updates are expected as production progresses.
