Exclusive: Michael B. Jordan Shares His Favorite Pop Culture Vampire

Actor Michael B. Jordan, 38, shared his favorite vampire from pop culture in an exclusive conversation at the Gotham Awards in New York City on December 1. The actor, currently drawing attention for his 2025 vampire horror film Sinners, discussed the cinematic bloodsucker that left a lasting impression on him.

Jordan pointed to Eddie Murphys role in the 1995 horror-comedy Vampire in Brooklyn as his favorite on-screen vampire. In that film, Murphy portrays Maximillian, the last vampire in existence, who crosses paths with Detective Rita Veder, played by Angela Bassett, with plans to make her his eternal companion.

Three decades later, Jordan himself steps into the vampire genre with Sinners, a film already generating Oscar buzz. In the story, he takes on the roles of twins Elijah Smoke Moore and Elias Stack Moore, who must protect their hometown from an influx of vampires during the 1930s. Spoiler alert: one twin eventually falls victim to a vampire bite, transforming into one of the undead.

Sinners is available for streaming on Max and can also be purchased on Prime Video, Fandango at Home, and Apple TV.
