According to British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard, Meghan's new Netflix lifestyle series reveals her aspiration to establish herself as "the new American royalty." However, Chard expressed doubt about the authenticity of the shows appeal, claiming that she finds it hard to believe that the American public takes it seriously.

Chard described Markle's approach as that of someone "living her best life as a fictional, boho-style princess and wannabe lifestyle guru." She explained that while the holiday special will undoubtedly highlight Meghan's personality and showcase her as someone who can make others feel at ease, it might not be the kind of image that resonates with everyone, particularly in the UK. "At a time when family, togetherness, and generosity are central, she seems to be accentuating her own distance from the royal family," Chard remarked.

Furthermore, Chard emphasized that Meghan's lifestyle does not align with the idea of service that is traditionally associated with the British royal family. She compared the show to the works of other royals, such as Princess Catherines charitable concerts and King Charles Christmas broadcasts, which are seen as genuine efforts to unite people. The expert concluded that Meghans holiday special, despite its star-studded guest list, will likely not attract the attention of the British monarchy.
