Fans rally behind Paul Dano after Quentin Tarantino criticizes him as the "weakest male actor in SAG"

Supporters of Paul Dano have spoken out after Quentin Tarantino harshly criticized the actor during a recent podcast appearance.

Tarantino Targets Dano

The director of Pulp Fiction appeared on Bret Easton Ellis's podcast to discuss his top 20 films of the 21st century. When ranking his fifth choice, the 2007 film There Will Be Blood, Tarantino singled out Danos performance for criticism.

There Will Be Blood could easily be in the top two, but it has a major flaw, Tarantino said. And that flaw is Paul Dano.

He went further, suggesting that a young Austin Butler would have been a stronger choice for the role and labeling Dano as the weakest male actor in SAG and the limpest dick in the world.

Its supposed to be a two-hander, but its painfully obvious its not. Dano is weak, man. Hes just a weak, uninteresting presence, Tarantino added.

Fans and Colleagues Defend Dano

Many pointed out that Dano stepped into the role on just four days notice while filming was underway, a challenging situation for any actor. His performance in There Will Be Blood has received broad praise, and critics and fans alike dispute Tarantino's harsh judgment.

Supporters emphasized that while directors are entitled to their opinions, Tarantinos extended, personal attack was unnecessarily cruel. Social media users rushed to defend Dano and criticize Tarantinos comments.

Even actor Simu Liu voiced his support, saying simply: I think Paul Dano is an incredible actor.

The incident sparked widespread online discussion, with many celebrating Danos talent and condemning Tarantinos remarks as unprofessional.
