'HBO Max Executive Describes 'Harry Potter' Series as a Charming Adaptation: Viewers Will Recognize It as the Books'

The upcoming Harry Potter series on HBO is being described as a "charming and faithful adaptation" of J.K. Rowlings novels by Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max. Speaking at Content London, Aubrey shared her enthusiasm about the series and her visit to the set.

"I keep thinking about how wonderfully the series captures the spirit of the books," Aubrey said. "When viewers watch it, they will feel as if the books themselves have come to life."

She emphasized the series as a showcase of the UKs creative talent. "Its written by a British author, directed by a British filmmaker, and crafted by some of the finest professionals in the industry," she noted. "I cant wait for audiences to experience it."

Aubreys remarks came shortly after HBO Max confirmed a January 13 launch in several European countries, including Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein.

During her keynote, Aubrey also highlighted other original productions in the region, such as the German thriller 4 Blocks Zero, described as "intense and gripping," and the Italian series Portobello by Marco Bellocchio, which has garnered acclaim on the festival circuit.
