Hulu Renews Glen Powell's 'Chad Powers' for Season 2

Glen Powell is set to reprise his role as Chad Powers as Hulu officially renews the series for a second season. The announcement was made on Wednesday, shortly after the conclusion of the first season in late October.

Premiering on September 30, Chad Powers is inspired by Eli Mannings ESPN segment Elis Places and Omaha Productions. The original segment featured Manning using prosthetics to attempt a walk-on tryout at Penn State.

The first season followed the story of Russ Holliday, a once-promising quarterback whose career was derailed by a past mistake. In a bid to revive his football dreams, he adopts the persona of Chad Powers, an unconventional but talented player who joins the struggling South Georgia Catfish team.

The cast includes Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny, and Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson, alongside Powell in the lead role.

Produced by 20th Television, the show was co-created by Powell and Michael Waldron. Executive producers for the first season included Powell, Waldron, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, Kati Fernandez, Adam Fasullo, Luvh Rakhe, and Tony Yacenda.

Both Powell and Waldron have expressed enthusiasm for continuing the story, with Waldron previously noting, If audiences enjoy it, well continue making more. Powell added, Working on this project with close friends and creating something that brings joy has been incredibly rewarding. Im thrilled with what we accomplished in season one and excited for whats next.

Season 1 of Chad Powers is currently available for streaming on Hulu and Hulu with Disney+ bundles in the US, and on Disney+ in international markets.
