JD Vance Finally Responded to Online Speculation About His Marriage to Usha Vance

JD Vance has finally addressed the online chatter regarding his relationship with Usha Vance. Rumors about potential marital issues first emerged in late October when photos from a Turning Point USA event showed JD embracing Erika Kirk, wife of the late right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk, sparking widespread speculation.

Further attention arose when Usha visited Camp Lejeune alongside Melania Trump without wearing her wedding ring. A spokesperson for Usha explained to People that she is a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.

In an interview with NBC News, JD addressed the rumors directly. I think that we kind of get a kick out of it, he said, appearing unbothered by the public scrutiny. He added, With anything in life, you take the good with the bad. You accept that there are some sacrifices and there are some very good things that come along with it, too.

The Vice President emphasized the strength of their marriage: Our marriage is as strong as it's ever been. He praised Usha for adapting smoothly to her role as Second Lady, noting, I think Usha's really taken to it. It's been kind of cool to see how she's developed and evolved in this new role.

JD also shared a lighthearted perspective on the wedding ring rumors. She was like, 'Oh, if I don't go back and get them, there's going to be some ridiculous psycho who talks about it on social media.' And I was like, let them. It's not even worth the trip to run back upstairs. So we actually have a little bit of fun with it. And we thought that whole viral social media cycle was kind of funny.

JD discussed how media attention affects their children. Married since 2014, JD and Usha have three children: Ewan, 8; Vivek, 5; and Mirabel, 3. Theres always a limelight on the kids, and that's both good and bad, he said. He explained that their eldest son prefers privacy, while their younger son enjoys the attention, saying, He loves the fact that wherever he goes, people treat him very specially.

JD concluded, There are certainly ways in which it's difficult on the family. I'm not going to pretend that it isn't. But it's the sacrifice that we signed up for.
