Jessica Chastain, Jonathan Bailey and Jeff Goldblum Attend Star-Studded Premiere of 'The Gracious Visionary' in Rome to Celebrate Brunello Cucinelli

Italian fashion icon Brunello Cucinelli embraced full Hollywood glamour during the premiere of his documentary Brunello: The Gracious Visionary on Thursday evening in Rome. The event took place at Cinecitt Studios, near the recreated Colosseum famously used in Ridley Scotts Gladiator, and attracted a glittering array of cinema stars, including Jessica Chastain, Jonathan Bailey, Ava DuVernay, Jeff Goldblum, Chris Pine, dgar Ramrez, and Kyle MacLachlan. Each attendee wore Cucinelli designs, celebrating not just the brands fashion but also its philosophy centered on humanistic capitalism.

Oscar-nominated director Ava DuVernay commented on the premieres beige-toned carpet, matching the brands signature neutral palette: The brand represents values beyond style family, environmental advocacy, and a thoughtful approach to life.

Directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Cinema Paradiso, the documentary traces Cucinellis journey from a humble Umbrian farm boy to the leader of a global luxury fashion house. Saul Nanni stars as a young Cucinelli, and the film combines reenactments with documentary footage to explore how philosophy, card games, and the generosity of others shaped his worldview.

Cucinelli has long prioritized the well-being of his employees, ensuring fair wages and fostering a familial environment in his factories. He has also restored the village of Solomeo, the headquarters of his brand. Why shouldnt capitalism also be modern and humane? How can you inspire your team if you do not tell them the truth? Cucinelli remarked at a press conference at Romes Teatro dellOpera. Workers deserve a better workplace, fair profits, and to be treated as thinking individuals.

This philosophy resonates in Hollywood, with celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Patrick Dempsey participating in the documentary, and stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie wearing Cucinelli and visiting Solomeo. Jeff Goldblum and his wife Emilie Livingston, for example, toured the village shortly after relocating to Florence. We saw the entire process there hes wonderful, Goldblum said, dressed in a tuxedo and grey cashmere coat by the designer. He added that wearing Cucinelli always makes him feel like a million bucks.

After the Cinecitt Teatro 22 screening, where Goldblum and Bailey shared a lighthearted reunion and Chastain conversed with DuVernay, guests enjoyed a dinner along a pathway reminiscent of ancient Rome. Candlelight illuminated quotes from Cucinellis favorite philosophers, creating a warm atmosphere in contrast to the premieres glamour. Cucinelli, in a grey suit, was welcomed by applause and kisses from his young granddaughters.

The dinner featured family-style antipasti and mezzi paccheri pasta in tomato sauce, the same meal served daily to Solomeo workers, and the room was lined with thousands of books from Cucinellis personal collection, reflecting his commitment to humanism. Despite his growing celebrity presence, Cucinelli emphasizes that his true focus remains on leaving a meaningful legacy. Hollywood is delightful and amusing, he laughed, but I am more concerned with the human soul.
