The Jonas Brothers are letting fans peek behind the curtain of their latest festive movie. The trio, featured on the cover of PEOPLEs Best of 2025 issue, discussed the making of A Very Jonas Christmas, which premiered on Disney+ on November 14. Though fictional, the brothers portray surprisingly true-to-life versions of themselves, with Joe calling the project a bucket list item.

Working alongside writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, known for This Is Us and How I Met Your Father, the band aimed to balance authenticity with keeping certain personal elements private.

We had some individual sessions and then a big brain dump to give the audience a genuine glimpse into our lives, Nick explained. Of course, we kept some things personal, but we wanted it to feel real and authentic.

The brothers collaborated closely with the writers, who quickly grasped the nuances of their relationships. The first draft already captured our real-life dynamics, Joe noted. We just fine-tuned it to make it even closer to reality.

In the film, each brother plays an amplified version of himself: Nick is the responsible one, Joe is the charming rogue with a busy romantic life, and Kevin remains the brother tied to New Jersey. Despite the humorous exaggerations, the trio confirmed they exercised their right to veto certain elements during production. Absolutely, Joe said, adding that this back-and-forth added to the fun on set, as Kevin agreed.

Beyond the Christmas movie, the brothers also stepped away from their JONAS20 tour to film Camp Rock 3, returning to their iconic roles 15 years after the second film. Kevin reflected on the experience: It was incredible revisiting the original set and seeing familiar faces. Were grateful these movies exist and that we got to be part of them again.

Regarding their characters in Connect 3 Shane (Joe), Nate (Nick), and Jason (Kevin) the question of whether they are brothers remains playfully ambiguous. We didnt know, and still dont, if Connect 3 are brothers, Nick joked. Kevin added, Theres a hint here and there, but the lore is real.
