Kim Kardashian revealed the heartfelt gift her daughter North gave her ahead of the Paris robbery trial, showing how it helped her feel safe during a traumatic period. On a recent episode of The Kardashians, viewers saw Kim return to Paris to testify about the 2016 robbery, reliving the terrifying experience.
"Do you remember this? North gave me this LEGO and said, 'This is a treasure box that will keep you safe, Mommy. I'm putting magical things in it,'" Kardashian shared with her childhood friend Simone Harouche, holding up the LEGO box.
Kim explained how the gift became a symbol of safety for her. "Id put it by my bed, and wed joke, 'We made it another night from ISIS!' We kept thinking it was like ISIS that was going to get us," she said. Simone, who was in the hotel room below during the robbery, confirmed her memory of the event.
In a private confessional, Kim elaborated that North, who was around three years old at the time, gave her the toy before her trip to Paris. "I was so anxious about the trip and worried about ISIS. When they stole everything, that LEGO treasure box was the only thing left. It kept me safe," she reflected.
Kardashian recalled that while the robbers discarded her jewelry along with the box, she was able to keep it. "I took it home with me and felt it kept me safe. Who cares about the jewels?" she said.
The reality star was tied up and held at gunpoint during the robbery at the No Address Hotel in Paris, losing more than $10 million in jewelry. In May 2025, she returned to Paris to testify in court against ten suspects involved in the heist.
Simone described Kim's state during the attack: "You opened the window and said, 'If they come back, we're jumping out the window.'" Kim added, "I was ready for anything." Kris Jenner also remembered receiving a frantic call from Kim during the ordeal.
Kim further opened up about the emotional impact of the incident, including hurtful remarks from her then-husband. "Even my ex-husband suggested I faked the robbery for TV," she said, calling it "a knife to my heart." She emphasized the pain of not being believed by someone so close to her.
New episodes of The Kardashians air Thursdays at 12 a.m. ET on Hulu.
Analysis: The Emotional Power of a Simple Gift Amidst Trauma
Kim Kardashian’s recent revelation about the heartfelt gift from her daughter North provides a deeper look into the psychological impact of the 2016 Paris robbery. In the midst of reliving the terrifying incident, Kardashian shared how a simple LEGO treasure box, given to her by her then 3-year-old daughter, became a powerful symbol of safety and comfort during a traumatic period. This small token, described as a "magical" item by North, helped Kim cope with anxiety surrounding the robbery and the fear of terrorist attacks, particularly ISIS.
In her own words, Kim explained that the LEGO box became a fixture by her bedside, offering a sense of security during the aftermath of the robbery. Despite losing over $10 million in jewelry, Kardashian emphasized that the item, which was miraculously left behind by the robbers, held more value to her than any of her stolen possessions. It became a poignant reminder of her survival and resilience. Her emotional connection to the gift highlights the therapeutic power that sentimental objects can hold, especially during moments of extreme stress and fear.
As Kim continues to process the trauma of that night, her openness in discussing the emotional toll is important for understanding how public figures navigate personal crises. The robbery's impact wasn't just physical—it extended into the emotional and relational realms, as seen in Kim's reflections on how the event strained her relationship with her then-husband. The suggestion that the robbery may have been fabricated for television was described by Kim as a painful blow, illustrating the personal and public challenges she faced during this period of recovery.
