Analysis: Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” and Her Continued Reign in Pop Music

Lady Gaga’s latest single, “Abracadabra,” has earned the coveted top spot on Rolling Stone’s “100 Best Songs of 2025” list, marking another milestone in her extraordinary career. The song’s success is no accident. Gaga, alongside her collaborators, has crafted a track that effortlessly blends elements of her earlier hits, such as “Just Dance” and “Bad Romance,” while still managing to sound fresh and contemporary. This ability to evolve while retaining the charm that made her a global pop icon is a testament to her artistic longevity.

Rolling Stone’s praise for “Abracadabra” as “the year’s most unavoidable pop anthem” is well-deserved. The track’s catchy hooks and vibrant production make it a standout piece, further cementing Gaga’s place at the top of the pop music hierarchy. But what truly sets this song apart is its ability to strike a balance between nostalgia and innovation, reminding listeners of Gaga’s roots while also presenting something entirely new.

It’s worth noting that while Gaga takes the #1 spot with “Abracadabra,” the competition remains fierce. The rest of the top 10 includes notable tracks by a range of artists, from HUNTR/X’s “Golden” at #3 to Chappell Roan’s “The Subway” at #10. Yet, Gaga’s track has managed to outshine them all, further solidifying her dominance in the pop music scene. Her album *Mayhem* also ranks high, landing at #2 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Best Albums of 2025” list, showing that her success this year is not a one-hit wonder, but part of a broader trend of critical acclaim.

With “Abracadabra,” Lady Gaga proves once again that she is an artist who can define eras in pop music. As she continues to push boundaries and defy expectations, it will be exciting to see what comes next in her already illustrious career.
