Last Trailer of 'Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' Introduces Humor and Unlikely Heroes to Westeros

The premiere of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is approaching, and the final trailer reveals a tone lighter than other tales from Westeros. The series follows Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) on his quest to become a renowned knight for a notable house. His path leads him to House Targaryen, where he meets his squire, Aegon Egg Targaryen (Dexter Sol Ansell).

This spin-off of Game of Thrones promises a grounded story that centers on the lives of ordinary people rather than the rulers of Westeros. The trailer showcases Dunk and Egg traveling the realm as a hedge knight and squire, aiming to rise through the ranks. Every knight needs a squire, Egg remarks to Dunk. And you seem to need one more than most.

The first season, consisting of six episodes, will debut on January 18 on HBO and HBO Max, with episodes released weekly. The narrative takes place a century before the events of the original Game of Thrones series, and 100 years after the events of the spin-off House of the Dragon. The series has already been renewed for a second season, set for 2027.

The cast for season one includes Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon, Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen, Danny Webb as Ser Arlan of Pennytree, Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen, Shaun Thomas as Raymun Fossoway, Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen, Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon Fossoway, Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, Henry Ashton as Daeron Targaryen, Youssef Kerkour as Steely Pate, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Plummer, and Daniel Monks as Ser Manfred Dondarrion.

George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker co-created and executive-produce the series, with Parker also serving as showrunner.
