Leonardo DiCaprio recently discussed his latest project, One Battle After Another, and shared his thoughts on finally working with director Paul Thomas Anderson. He also revealed that they nearly collaborated on previous projects and addressed whether he regretted choosing Titanic over Andersons Boogie Nights.
DiCaprio Reflects on Career Choices
In a recent interview, DiCaprio clarified his earlier statement about missing out on Boogie Nights. While he had once referred to not working on the film as a major regret, he explained the context of that remark. That answer came from a conversation framed around Paul. Without getting too personal, the question was, What do you regret most? he said. We were talking about films, and it came from a place of admiration for his work, DiCaprio added.
The actor emphasized that his reflection was less about the film itself and more about the opportunity to collaborate with Anderson. Boogie Nights was a breakthrough for a new artist. It wasnt just about that film; it was about wanting to work with Paul, he explained.
No Regrets About Titanic
When asked directly about choosing Titanic over Boogie Nights, DiCaprio shared a different perspective. I have no regrets. Looking back now, I appreciate being part of that film, he said, noting that it allowed him to take control of his career decisions. Of course, I wouldve loved to do both, but it simply wasnt possible at that time, he added.
Reflecting on his collaboration with Anderson on One Battle After Another, DiCaprio expressed excitement about reconnecting. All these years later, being able to work with Paul is incredible, he said. Our paths have crossed again, and this collaboration feels like a full-circle moment.
