St. Brown left the Thanksgiving loss to the Green Bay Packers with the ankle injury and was sidelined immediately. Head coach Dan Campbell previously noted the expected recovery window was a week or two, emphasizing it was not a long-term concern. However, the short turnaround has raised questions about his readiness for the upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys.

According to ESPNs Adam Schefter, St. Brown missed practice for the second consecutive day while rehabilitating the injury. This absence on a condensed schedule is far from ideal as Detroit prepares for Thursday Night Football.

Speaking to reporters, St. Brown provided an honest assessment of his situation. Im not sure right now, if Im being honest. Its still up in the air, he said. Ima try to be out there for the guys, for my teammates, but I couldnt answer that question right now. His remarks reflect both his competitive nature and the challenge of recovering quickly after sustaining the injury.

Before the setback, St. Brown was having an outstanding season with 75 receptions, 884 yards, and nine touchdowns through 12 games. His role in the offenseparticularly in the slot, on third downs, and as Jared Goffs primary targetis vital. If he cannot play, Jameson Williams and the rest of the receiving group will need to carry a heavier load in a game with significant playoff implications.
