Lisa Ann Walter has revealed that she didnt fully recognize how attractive she was during her younger years. Speaking at the Avatar: Fire and Ash world premiere in Hollywood on December 1, the 61-year-old actress reflected on her body image in the past.
Walter admitted that in the 1990s, she struggled with seeing herself as truly attractive. "The '90s were a strange era for women," she said. "I had a banging figure36-24-36. I was hot but I didnt see it at the time. I always thought of myself as 'cute for a comic,' when really, I should have done Playboy."
The actress also playfully mentioned a period when she went very blonde and embraced a more daring, bold look.
Known for roles in films like The Parent Trap and Bruce Almighty, Walter is currently filming season 5 of the hit comedy series Abbott Elementary. She expressed that promoting the show comes naturally because she genuinely enjoys it. "Its not a chore to talk about a series that I would actually watch myself," she explained. "I like the show. I think its funny, and I love that it does something positive in the world. The cast and crew feel like family."
Regarding upcoming episodes, Walter teased that there are a few surprises that significantly impact the storylines, especially for her character Jacob, though she refrained from giving specifics to avoid spoilers.
Her work on Abbott Elementary has earned her and the ensemble a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Series in 2023, along with a Golden Globe for Best Television SeriesComedy or Musical.
